Scrapblog your photos

Digerati\ Scrapblog

Ollie Harridge, Senior DeveloperWe here at Digerati\ are big fans of photography and user-friendy interfaces, so when we heard that there’s a new site that lets you arrange your digital photos in a scrapbook format in a super easy-to-use way, we thought we’d give it a go.

Scrapblog’s interface really is as easy-to-use as they say (quite rare in itself). The editing functions are stripped down to the bare essentials and are displayed in a clear and concise way. Omitting drawing tools (like Photoshop’s pencil tool) ensures there aren’t amateurish scribblings over the scrapblog or that (heaven forbid) people try to write words by freehand rather than use the text tools - a practice which stills seems intuitive to inexperienced users, but ends up looking like someones tried to write words with a tin of spaghetti.

The Scrapblog interface

The flash interface is clean and concise.

I also like the way you are limited to using only the decorations (they call them stickers) that are relevant to the design style you have chosen. This keeps the design options focussed, which results in a better looking scrapblog, and entices you to try other design styles with an entirely new set of stickers to play with.

My Digerati Scrapblog Page

Scrapblog can also import your photos from Flickr, which is another Digerati\ Favourite Website (offical accreditation). I really like finding sites that I intend to spend a couple of minutes looking at (out of professional interest, of course), but then before I know what’s happening I’ve found that I’ve spent half an hour using it because the user interface is so intuative it feels like I don’t have to think what to do next. The last couple of websites I’ve found that I have done this on are TrustedPlaces (a social place-recommendation site) and Facebook (addictive friend-collection/stalking site).
